Expose AI — AI Image Detector
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Welcome to Expose AI ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
In short: the images, videos and GIFs you check are analyzed on your device and never uploaded, there is no account or sign-up, and links you check are fetched directly by your phone, never through us. Find the source, an optional reverse image search, contacts only the search service you pick, and only when you tap it.
Expose AI analyzes images entirely on your device using AI models embedded in the app. The images you check — whether you choose them from your library, paste them, share them from another app, or check them by link — are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server. The analysis itself works even with no internet connection. We have no access to your photos, and the app never sends a copy anywhere on its own: an image leaves your phone only if you send it yourself, for example to a search app with Find the source (section 5) or to a destination you pick in the share sheet.
Videos and GIFs: to check a video or an animated GIF, the app takes a few still frames (4 to 8) from it on your device, saves them in its private cache, and analyzes each one like a photo. The video, the GIF and the frames are never uploaded, and the system clears the cache over time.
When you check a link — by typing or pasting it, or by sharing a post or web page to the app — your phone downloads the page and the image directly from the site you entered, the same way a web browser would, and finds the image the page shows (for example, the preview image named in its Open Graph or twitter:image tags). For X (Twitter) posts, the app reads the post through X's public embed endpoint (cdn.syndication.twimg.com) and downloads the photo from X's servers.
The link and the image are not sent to us or to any other service. As with any web request, the site you contact (and X, for X posts) receives an ordinary request from your device, including your IP address, and handles it under its own privacy policy. The downloaded image is saved to the app's cache on your device and analyzed there, like any other image. Checking a link is the only part of the analysis that needs an internet connection.
Find the source is an optional reverse image search on the result screen. It does nothing unless you tap it, and it never goes through us.
We never receive the image, its address, or your search.
We collect minimal information to operate the app:
All of the app's detection models — the fast Standard model and the two Deep Scan models — are bundled inside the app and run in your phone's memory, and so does the region scan. None of them sends data anywhere. Choosing a Standard scan or a Deep Scan, or buying Pro, does not change what leaves your device: nothing does.
Expose AI displays advertisements through Google AdMob to support free, unlimited Standard scans. Free users can also choose to watch a short rewarded ad to earn an extra Deep Scan (up to three a day); these ads play only when you choose to start one. Google AdMob may collect certain information for personalized advertising. You can learn more about Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
We ask for your ad choices on the privacy slide of the app's intro. On iOS devices, we request App Tracking Transparency permission before enabling personalized ads. In the EEA and UK, we show a consent form (Google UMP) before serving personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings, and Pro users see no ads at all.
Pro is optional. It is available as an auto-renewing subscription or as a one-time Lifetime purchase, billed through your App Store or Google Play account. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled entirely by the store. We never see your payment details. To activate Pro, RevenueCat receives the store's purchase receipt and an anonymous app-generated identifier (see section 6). You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your store account settings, and restore purchases from the app.
Expose AI is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
Because your images, history, settings, and Deep Scan allowance stay on your device, their security depends on your device's own protections. The limited data handled by our third-party services (advertising and purchase processing) is protected by those services' security measures.
Our app uses the following third-party services:
Each service has its own privacy policy governing the use of your information.
You have the right to:
AI-image detection is probabilistic. Verdicts — and the region map — are a signal, not proof, and accuracy varies with image editing, compression, and new AI generators. Please do not use results as the sole basis for accusations or decisions about other people.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
